My LCP is over 4 seconds on Shopify — how do I fix it?

LCP is when your biggest above-the-fold element finishes rendering — on most stores that's the hero image or headline. The common causes are an unoptimized hero image, that image loading lazily (it shouldn't — the LCP image should load eagerly and be preloaded), render-blocking CSS/JS ahead of it, or a slow-loading web font swapping in late.

Fix order: optimize and correctly size the hero image, preload it, remove lazy-loading from it, defer non-critical scripts, and preload your primary font. That sequence alone usually drops LCP under 2.5s.
